Tunnel Rush: Dodge Walls in a Tunnel That Never Slows Down

Written by Riley Chen

Most dodging games give you a second to think. Tunnel Rush gives you about half of that and then takes it back. You’re running forward through a glowing tunnel, walls rotate toward you, and the only thing you control is which way you slide. The speed number in the corner keeps climbing, and the gaps keep getting harder to read. It’s a free browser skill game that looks calm for the first few seconds and then turns into a reflex test. If you like games where every crash feels like your own fault and you still hit restart immediately, this one is built for you.

The Whole Control Scheme Fits on Two Keys

  • Left arrow: slide left
  • Right arrow: slide right

The version here also shows on-screen arrow buttons next to the keyboard prompts. On a Chromebook, the built-in arrow keys do all the work.

Keep Moving the Other Way

You run forward automatically, so all you decide is where to be. Walls rotate toward you, gaps show up without warning, and hitting an obstacle ends the run. The tunnel never slows down. The top of the screen shows your distance in meters, your current level and your speed in meters per second, and all three numbers climb as you go.

Each level brings new shapes and tighter spaces, so the openings you memorized stop working. I didn’t spot any power-ups in my sessions, which means movement is the only skill. A crash sends you back quickly, which is exactly why one more try always turns into ten. After a few attempts, sections that looked random start to make sense, and you can move earlier.

Tunnel Rush Unblocked Fits a Ten-Minute Break

A run lasts from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, so you can play one between classes and lose nothing when you close the tab. Plenty of unblocked games on a school network are slow to load or need a long tutorial. This one drops you into the tunnel as soon as it loads.

A Tunnel Rush unblocked Chromebook session needs only the arrow keys, so a school laptop handles it without a problem. My best attempt got me to level 9 before a rotating wall caught me, and I replayed that run in my head for the rest of the day.

Quick Tangent: The Speed Counter Is a Trap

The meters-per-second number looks like useful information, but staring at it only makes things worse. The tunnel already feels fast, and a rising number adds panic on top. I got better when I stopped looking at the corners of the screen and kept my eyes on the center of the tunnel, where the next gap shows up.

Who Built It

The original was made by Deer Cat Games, an independent developer based in London, and it came out on Poki in 2019. It was popular enough to get a sequel. It’s free to play in the browser.

Five Gaps to Aim For

Gap 1: Look ahead, not at the wall. Your eyes should be on the next opening, not the obstacle in front of you.

Gap 2: Move opposite to a rotating wall. If an obstacle spins one way, slide the other way and you’ll usually clear it.

Gap 3: Make small moves. Short taps keep you steady, while long holds send you into the next wall.

Gap 4: Ignore the speed counter. Watching it adds panic, so keep your attention on the center of the tunnel.

Gap 5: Restart without sulking. Crashes reset quickly, so treat each one as a free practice rep.

More Obstacle Runs to Try Next

Death Run 3D is a 3D obstacle game where traps and enemies stand between you and the end of each level, so it rewards the same kind of nerve.

Curve Rush has you guiding a moving object along a winding track full of twists and hazards, with curves that get harder as you go.

Pick your next obstacle course at unblockedgamesfree.com whenever the tunnel gets too tight.

The Gap Was Always There

Nobody beats Tunnel Rush on the first try, and that’s the point. You lose to a wall you could have dodged, and you know it, so you click restart anyway. A few tries later the gaps start to look obvious, then the next level arrives and starts the cycle again. Open it, set your fingers on the arrow keys and see how far you get.
